They are both very friendly and do not bite! They love to lick and love to get treats. Ariella is more outgoing and loves to be held and be out of the cage. Luna on the other hand, takes some bribing with treats to get her out. Along with the rats, for an additional fee will be the two story cage, food, water bottle, food bowl, tent/bed, bedding for the bottom of the cage, treats and anything else in the cage.

Rescue Me ID: 15-10-05-00330Gerbil (male)

Small Mammal    Age: Adult

Two year old, male, pied honey cream gerbil. Friendly disposition, but a little insecure since his cagemate died. Adopted from a breeder, Central Texas Gerbils, and was hand-tamed when adopted. He's never had any health problems and is really very sweet. I'm re-homing him because I don't intend to get any more gerbils and I don't want him to live out his life alone since gerbils are very social. My cats also tend to harass him and it'd be much better for him to live in a home without curious pets that bother him. I would prefer someone with some experience with gerbils were to adopt him as they will need to do a split-tank introduction in ... (Read More)order to pair him with a new cagemate. He's a very sweet boy and I love him but he needs to live with someone who intends to have gerbils for a long time and so will not hesitate to pair him with a new cagemate. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting Rodents & Small Mammal in Texas
Rodents & Small Mammals can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Rodents are small mammals with four sharp teeth they use to eat, gnaw wood, and defend themselves. Several types of rodents are popular pets, such as chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs. Even rats are kept as pets! Rodents are often purchased as gifts for children. Sadly, however, many owners of rodent pets do not know how to care for them properly, and young children are often unprepared for the responsibility of having a pet. Families may not approach the purchase of a rodent with the same level of commitment they would have to a pet dog or cat. Mistakes can be made regarding the genders of a pair of rodents, resulting in a litter of unexpected babies. Some owners of rodents simply turn their pets loose when they get tired of them, which usually leads to the death of the animals, since they are not adapted to life in the wild. Free to good home ads can result in a rodent being used for snake food. There are some rodent rescue operations out there that can receive discarded pets, but these places tend to become overloaded due to so many people getting rid of their rodents. Please approach all decisions to get a pet with a long-term commitment, and pursue adoption rather than buying a rodent from a pet store.
