Rescue Me ID: 17-09-08-00045Rat (female)

Small Mammal    Age: Young Adult

I have two female rats and one male rat. It is a mother and two babies, born in June. All three are very sweet, social, and are handled daily. No problems with biting. The male is not fixed, therefore would be happiest with other male rats.

I have 3 boy rats for re-homing, they are 1 month old now and have been socialized since they were young. They are trained on using a water bottle as well as litter pans. They're very cuddly and friendly. They're used to being pet, picked up and are very chill. Two have black hoods with white bodies and one has a black/grey body with white stomach. I'm in the University Area of Charlotte, I am asking a $5 re-homing fee.

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-01-005602 Rats plus Cage (female)

Small Mammal    Age: Young Adult

PET only home!!!! They must go together because they are very bonded. They're 1yr old, litter box trained, and very healthy. Both get along great with other rats. They are FREE to good home. Their cage and supplies is $50. They are living in a finch flight cage with bowls, toys, hammock, basket, lava ledge, rope perch, litter box, and multiple other items I have left also. Daphne: She is the sweetest girl!! She will give kisses and is fine if you hold her or pet her. She licks fingers if you stick them through the cage bars. She loves to explore and takes treats very nicely. She can be a bit skittish with loud noises, especially if she is ... (Read More)out of her cage. She is not scared of dogs but has only seen them through cage bars. She has never bitten me and is very submissive with other rats. She loves spending time with baby rats. . Madison: She is very adventurous and fairly dominant but loves having multiple females living with her. She absolutely loves to explore!! She does not like fingers in the cage bars, she will bite them a bit hard thinking it's food. If she's spooked when you go to pet her or asleep she will bite but after she realizes she's safe she will be sweet again. She is very sweet, but she is fearful and needs patience to adjust. (Less)

Must go together because I cannot have a single boy alone here. Todd: He is very sweet, has never bitten, and loves to sleep under fleece bedding. He is very timid and shy and will need more one on one attention to come out of his shell. Casper: He is very sweet, has never bitten, and loves to eat! He is first to the bowl when I pour new food in the mornings. He is adventurous and again will blossom with someone who has more time. He gets ... PIease Read Before Adopting Rodents & Small Mammal in North Carolina
Rodents & Small Mammals can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Rodents are small mammals with four sharp teeth they use to eat, gnaw wood, and defend themselves. Several types of rodents are popular pets, such as chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs. Even rats are kept as pets! Rodents are often purchased as gifts for children. Sadly, however, many owners of rodent pets do not know how to care for them properly, and young children are often unprepared for the responsibility of having a pet. Families may not approach the purchase of a rodent with the same level of commitment they would have to a pet dog or cat. Mistakes can be made regarding the genders of a pair of rodents, resulting in a litter of unexpected babies. Some owners of rodents simply turn their pets loose when they get tired of them, which usually leads to the death of the animals, since they are not adapted to life in the wild. Free to good home ads can result in a rodent being used for snake food. There are some rodent rescue operations out there that can receive discarded pets, but these places tend to become overloaded due to so many people getting rid of their rodents. Please approach all decisions to get a pet with a long-term commitment, and pursue adoption rather than buying a rodent from a pet store.
