Small Mammal    Age: Baby

**BABY RATS FOR ADOPTION** BOYS & GIRLS!!! HUNTINGTON, NY Born 9/22/17, will be available for adoption late October/Early November (once babies stop nursing on their own and show independence) This is 2 litters combined. I purchased moms from a pet store that sells babies as feeders. Both moms gave birth on the same day at about the same time, and I'm now looking for homes for all 27 babies. There are boys and girls, and a variety of colors including black, brown, albino, siamese, black & brown heads w/ white bodies, and one with a grey head and white body. Adoption fee is $15 per baby, but I will HAPPILY WAIVE FEE with any of ... (Read More)the following: - proof of a good setup including cage with small bar spacing, climbing toys, etc..., - proof of another rat in the household - with a vet reference for small exotics vet or dog/cat vet to show that you are, or have been, a good pet owner. I will do my best to match each adopter with rats of their coloring choice. No adopters will be allowed to adopt a boy and a girl; multiple adoptions must be same sex. If you are interested, or would like more information, please text me at 917-635-5510 or email me at 3dogs712@gmail.com. Please note that phone calls will likely not be answered until someone is listed as a contact with a name. All interested adopters will get additional images as the babies grow up. Meetups can definitely be arranged for anyone hoping to select their babies in person. I am happy to drive babies to their new homes anywhere in Queens or East to Riverhead. Homes located outside those borders can be arranged but I may ask for a little gas or toll. I have in the past driven babies as far as Connecticut and New Jersey, so don't be afraid to ask. =) -HOLLY 917-635-5510 (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting Rodents & Small Mammal in New York
Rodents & Small Mammals can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. Rodents are small mammals with four sharp teeth they use to eat, gnaw wood, and defend themselves. Several types of rodents are popular pets, such as chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs. Even rats are kept as pets! Rodents are often purchased as gifts for children. Sadly, however, many owners of rodent pets do not know how to care for them properly, and young children are often unprepared for the responsibility of having a pet. Families may not approach the purchase of a rodent with the same level of commitment they would have to a pet dog or cat. Mistakes can be made regarding the genders of a pair of rodents, resulting in a litter of unexpected babies. Some owners of rodents simply turn their pets loose when they get tired of them, which usually leads to the death of the animals, since they are not adapted to life in the wild. Free to good home ads can result in a rodent being used for snake food. There are some rodent rescue operations out there that can receive discarded pets, but these places tend to become overloaded due to so many people getting rid of their rodents. Please approach all decisions to get a pet with a long-term commitment, and pursue adoption rather than buying a rodent from a pet store.
